Coil problems need help.

Has any one had problems with coils burning up. I went through 3 coils in the last 2 months. What do i need to look at thats causing this? I don't want to take it to a shop the first time it went bad they charged me $700.00 to replace the starter and coil and the coil only lasted 3 weeks.I changed it again and that last a liitle over a month.

Voltage regulator? I'd take the amp in have it checked, may want to have the electrical system checked as well.

Please explain your theory of the voltage regulator being bad causing the coil to go bad. Oh and what is an AMP that we can't determine from his post? I'm not trying to bash a fellow Virginian and especially one that's so close but what do you know that we don't?

Possessed have you been getting OEM coils or something else? What are the symptoms of the problem that is cured by replacing the coil so many times? What's been done with the ICM?
