LT4 Rockers? Will they work in LT1

I am looking at buying some LT4 rockers from a member on here, I have some questions that he nor I knew.
They are 1.6 ratio and SA, but will they fit in my stock LT1 valve covers or will they require modifcation?

Also are the LT4 rockers just as good as crane golds or comp cams? Since they are the same ratio I would think gains would be similiar.

Is 150 a good price for these? They supposably only have 20 miles on them and come w/ all hardware, but no polylocks? I need thought on this.

GMPP rockers (from LT4 hot cam kit), or actual LT4 rockers?
i believe (not 100% tho) that actual LT4 rockers off an LT4 engine have a different rocker stud then LT1's

The man is right. The actual production LT4 motor used 10mm studs in the heads and rockers to fit them, the GMPP rockers are for a 2/8ths stud like the GMPP LT$ heads and the LT1 heads use. The GMPP rockers are much the same as the Crane gold rockers and are made by Crane for GM, GM actually had them add some material to strengthen them, but it limits their lift capacity to I believe about .550. The Comps being steel are stronger than either and due to needing a lot less steel for the same strength actually are lighter in operation, all three are good rockers.

Just a minor correction to the post above; the stock studs are 3/8, not 2/8. Upgraded studs are 7/16.

I'm sure that was a typo by Dwayne.

Im pretty sure that they are actual LT4 rockers, not the gmpp ones. So basically the LT4 rockers will not fit my LT1?

If they are from a showroom LT4, they will not fit. You need the GMPP ones.

I got it! Why don't you ask the guy/gal you are getting them from? My guess is that they are RRs from the LT4 Kit, since why would someone have RRs from an actual Lt4 with only 20 miles on them. JMHO

Also: don't know what the LT4 kit RRs are made of, but I understand the LT4s are modified Crane's made of forged aluminum.

Ok, turns out they are from the LT4 hot cam kit, so does this mean they will fit on my stock LT1? Sorry for my dumbness, and they are SA? Will they require valve cover modification since they are the gmmp ones?

Re: LT4 Rockers? Will they work in LT1

They will fit fine and are SA, I don't think the GMPP ones need valvecover tweaking but if they do it is extremely minor, if you can check oil you could easily do it so if you are changing rockers is is beyond simple by comparison.

Yeah the 2/8ths was a typo meant 3/8th. My brain works faster than the 3-4 fingers I type with.
