code 44
code 44
OK soo recently i replaced my o2 sensors along with egr valve, new injectors and im getting a code 44 saying my o2 sensors are showin lean..and im having a horrible stumble hesitation after the car heats up...how are my o2 showin lean when i bought them brand new, do i have a leak somewhere in my exhaust maybe??
Did you have a problem before your changed your O2's and EGR? You chould possibly have a defective O2 sensor. I'd check your fuel pressure and make sure it's about 43 psi with the vacuum line off. You could have a clogged fuel filter that's starving the engine for fuel.
DTC 44 = Bank 1 (left) Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) Circuit (lean exhaust indicated)
Means only the drivers side has a problem. Or at least that its only bad enough on the driver's side that it sets the code. A scan would tell you if the passenger side is also affected, and possibly running lean just below the threshold that will set the passenger side code.
Is it possible you contaminated the sensor while installing it? Is it possible the wiring harness or connector is damaged? Is it possible the sensor isn't screwed in tight? Is it possible you have an exhaust leak on the driver's side, before the O2 sensor? Is it possible you have a misfire on one or more cylinders in the drivers side?
Each of these could cause the DTC 44 (as well as a faulty sensor). Swap the sensors side-to-side, and see if the code switches to the passenger side (DTC 64), indicating a faulty sensor, or if it stays on the drivers side, indicating one of the other causes listed above.
