Code 16 Help

Is it possible that a stored code 16 could cause the issues my car was having in this thread? http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=523335
I cleared the code and put over 75 miles on it since without even so much as a slight miss. I have also tried to put a huge load on the charging system to see if the low resolution signal would come back. I ran my bottle heater, stereo, and fans to get it to come on with nothing. This all started with what I thought was a voltage problem after my battery died. I have not experienced any of the symptoms that were present in the thread. I am trying to go on the Power Tour this weekend and want to make sure the car is not going to break down on me.

Have you used a multi meter to check if opti is sending signal to the coil?

My opti died without throwing codes or causing any symptoms. No stalling sputtering or miss, it would just shut the car off and refuse to turn back over. It would start then randomly die without warning. You could just throw in a remanufactured one for about $117 from autozone and be able to test it out

The thing is, you can't troubleshoot a problem that is not occurring...
