cnc motorsports doesnt have a clue

okay so i ordered a rotating assembly kit and gaskets from there. got the assembly fine but the damn gaskets dont fit. call them up and they decide that since i own a 95 transam (non Ws6) that my engine is a LT4. they are trying to tell me that they stopped building LT1's in 93. so what the hell would that make all the engines we are building? basically they are trying to blame it on me because i told them i had an LT1 engine so they wont pay for return shipping.

Re: cnc motorsports doesnt have a clue

Ive heard good things from them, maybe try and talk to someone else.

Either way, the gaskets would be the same on a lt4 motor as they are on an 95+ lt1.

Re: cnc motorsports doesnt have a clue

yeah before 93 was the L98 motor. and from 93-97 was LT1. i know this and tried telling the guy. i even said that the gaskets for the LT1 should be the same for the LT4. he wouldn't listen to a damn thing i said. all he could come up with is well we've sold a lot of these gasket sets and your the only that says it wont fit on an LT1 motor. so then he goes and checks with another guy and they decide the reason it wont fit is because its a LT4. to top it all off hes trying to convince me that i dont know what im talkin about.
o and the gaskets arent even close, they are for some kind of sbc but definately not the LT1. the headgaskets have tiny water jacket ports, and the intake gasket has ports for water. also all the rest of the gaskets are wrong, the pan might work didnt look at that one.

Re: cnc motorsports doesnt have a clue

i was trying not to be an *** about this whole situation but when the guy started telling me about how im the only one who says they wont fit on an LT1 and that this whole situation is my fault and not his because i said i have a 1995 LT1 and he thinks i really have an LT4. i guess ill just have to contact his boss like you guys said. the real sh*ty part about it is that i spent over $1,000 there with this order and they treat me like this. i think ill take my business elsewhere, really disgusts me.

Re: cnc motorsports doesnt have a clue

yeah its a fel pro complete gasket set for my 95 transam. the crazy thing is according to them they dont have the right gasket set. i dont know what to think so i just went ahead and told them id ship it back to them for a refund and i ordered one from a local parts store. i was tired of trying to figure out what i needed because they definately were going to do it for me.

Re: cnc motorsports doesnt have a clue

They have almost no stuff for the lt1.

You shop some places for great support. You shop others for the absolute rock bottom price. You can not touch cnc's price on the 357 eagle setup.

That is all I bought from them though.

Re: cnc motorsports doesnt have a clue

yeah im realizing they definately arent staying in business for their costumer support. i understand their prices are dirt cheap for some things but that to me doesnt justify complete ignorance and lack of ability to listen to a customer instead of just telling them they are wrong.
