Since I am new to the fbodies, but not clutches mind you, I was wondering what the symptoms are of clutch change time. I have some miles on the stocker and want to make sure I catch it in time. Thanks

As soon as you feel it slipping under load.

 

when you punch it in 1st and 2nd, and the car doesn't go right away, then it's time. and then you smell that unique odor

 

I've got 74,000 miles and 170+ passes down the dragstrip and mine's just now showing wear, but only at the drag strip with drag radials. Yeah, it does feel a little spongy now too, but under normal driving conditions it's just fine.
