clutch install questions

I just got a new disc, I don't want to make the same mistakes I did last time. So I have a few questions:

1. What can be used to clean the flywheel, clutch and pressure plate prior to installation?

2. How many miles till I can beat on it?

Re: clutch install questions

Most say 500 miles, i usually go about 150.

Use some brake cleaner to clean it all up. Dont get it in the throwout bearing or the pilot.

Re: clutch install questions

Cool thanks, should I put more grease on the throw-out bearing or leave it how it came?

Re: clutch install questions

I usually grease the pilot with some hightemp grease and leave the throwout alone
