clutch chatters so bad feels like car is about to fall apart
I just installed the spec stage 3 carbon disc clutch kit. The first time I installed it, everything felt great. Then I remembered my engine was from an automatic tranny so I pulled the tranny to install a pilot bearing. When I pulled it, I discovered it already had a bearing so I just installed everything back on (only using this engine for a few thousand miles). Now eveytime I let off the clutch peddle, the whole car shakes like crazy. I think most people would say it's just clutch chatter from a new clutch, but you have to understand it shakes the whole car and feels like my headlights are gonna break or something. It doesn't do it as bad when I rev higher to start moving the car. Downshifting is the worst, it seriously feels like an earthquake
I've got the Stage 2 and I need to rev it abunch and release the clutch very quickly to avoid some fairly agressive chatter. Reverse I simply can't avoid chatter. So, when you say the earth quakes with the stage 3 i appreciate and understand. I don't know what you can do about it though.

I can't remember where I read that though..
I may have to rethink my clutch choice.

Feels like a normal clutch to me. I have the six puck in, has about 80 miles on it and it chatters a little but its definatley streetable. It feels no different than another replacement clutch as far as streetabilty, but boy is it sticky.

I've been using a Spec Stage 3 carbon 6-puck for about 5000 miles. It did chatter a LOT at first, but it slowly went away, and now it is just absolutely perfect! It doesn't chatter any more, but still launches HARD. It's broken in so well that I can let out the clutch slowly and get the car moving without even giving it any gas!
But it did chatter bad for the first month or so.

I have the SPEC stage 3 too and it chattered its *** off for the first 500 miles! Just come off it faster and stick it out cuz once you get it broken in you will love it! You will be the only one that can drive the car without killing it though. Also, just use high revs and feather it in reverse, as it will chatter forever there.

This is so true. My father in law wanted to move my car and take it around the block, tried to go in first 3 times and hated it. Bua hahaha. Next was my cousin, he wanted to go around the block in my car. He didnt get past the driveway
. Sure as hell keeps people from wanting to drive your car .

Yeah I'm gonna go with the "just live with it awhile" to see if it calms down, mine chattered a bit when I got it in, I have the 6 puck, and after a few hundred miles it's not too much worse than stock, I mean you can tell theres a clutch in there, but no chatter... going forward anyway...
