Clutch blew or something else? Help!

I was racing my car last night and as I tried to shift to 3rd it made a horrible grinding noise, at first I thought I missed the gear but right then I lost alot of pressure in the clutch pedal and it sounded like something popped. As soon as that happened a loud ticking almost a clack clack clack noise is coming from the belhousing area, sounds like it is coming from the drivers side when listening under the hood. This noise is present when the car is in neutral and the car wont engage in any gear with the clutch pushed in. If I put the car in first and try to start it will start rolling and start up but I have no clutch. If the car is started in neutral and I try to push it into gear without touching the clutch the car will start to creep forward as long as I hold the shifter. What does this sound like to you guys is my clutch dead? Throwout Baring? Please Help I am terribly lost here.

Do what Dave said.. you'll probable be able to find some damaged pieces in the bell housing in that area. Sounds like your disc may have come unglued.
