Question SES light and fan on high

I have a 95 firebird formula /firehawk (A4, 30500 miles) and twice yesterday upon start up my SES light came on and the fans were running on high speed. Each time after I turned the car off and back on It was back to normal. The first time it came on i just drove around the block after washing the car. After restart it went out and car ran fine. The other was for 50 or so miles and then I stopped and restarted the light went out and drove 200 miles home with no problems. The car seemed to run fine with light on except for the fans on high. I will also add that between the the SES light coming on i was at the Ames pontiac nationals and the car ran 14.0X ( 2.19-60 ) the same as it had the last I ran ET's 4 years prior. Any Ideas on what could be the problem? I will try and get it scanned this upcoming weekend to so if any codes were storred. Thanks in advavce

Re: SES light and fan on high

The fans are supposed to come on when the SES does, so don't be thinking those are two problems.
The scan will tell you what you need to look at.

Re: SES light and fan on high

Might want to check your AIR pump fuse. It's apparently the most common cause of SES light on/fans on high syndrome.
