I've heard great things about the centerforce clutch, but i was wondering if anyone had a SPEC clutch and what they thought of it. Basically i dont have 500 to spend on a Centerforce clutch and needed to know what else is good. my car is basically stock. thanks.

 

I wouldn't go with a Spec, after some investigating after blowing 2 Stage 3 clutches in 6 months with a basically stock clutch, I posted this about why I wouldn't get one.

i ysed a centerforce df,installed 30.000 miles ago now its slipping bad.its never seen the the track just a couple hard street launches,the guys at tpis recommend a stock pp with a ram cd,i think that my next one .centerforce is much money .

this car maybe for sell soon thinking about going to ls1 horse power.if intersted let me know

 

Do a search to find more info than you need. This gets brought up every week. I've heard very bad things about Centerforce for F-bodies. I used a McLeod Dual Performance. It was about $400 and it holds 450 hp. I am happy with it. Many people go with the SLP modified version of the stock parts.

 

I have the SLP LT4 pressure plate and LT1 disk and the setup works great. I've had zero problems with it and it holds very well.
