clucth switch starter kill?

Hey everyone, does the switch on the clutch that kills the starter, control anything else? I know that its not the best idea to do this, but I'm gonna put a remote starter on my 94 z m6 and was wondering if the computer actually uses this switch to determine if the clutch is in or out. I guess my question is...if I bypass this switch will it affect the car in anyway besides making it startable in gear. I never leave my car in gear so its not an issue for me. Thanks for all your help.

It shouldn't effect anything else. I'm thinking of shorting mine too - I never leave my car in gear.

BTW, be sure you short the right switch - it's the black one.

You said starting your car IN GEAR....you cannot do this....the starter will just roll the car forward. It would hafta be left in neutral....then you'll be A-O-K. Neutral safety switch doesn't do anything other than making sure that the clutch is in before the car is cranked.
