Cloyes 3153A in an LT1?

I've searched through the database and I'm still confused if this timing set has been used on LT1's? In the Cloyes catalog, this part number is listed for LS motors.

The 3145A is the adjustable timing set for LT1's but is a double roller. I'd like to avoid the double roller to prevent removing the crank trigger and possible clearancing the cover (plus I think it's overkill).

I should add that I will be running and electric water pump.

Any help?

I'm confused. What are you using a crank trigger for, and why do you need an adjustable timing set for an LT1 when the timing is controlled electronically if you keep the FI?

A Cloyes 9-3157 is a single roller.

94Z28, the crankshaft position sensor is OEM. The timing adjustment is the camshaft relative to the crankshaft. The fuel timing is is calculated from the cam position sensor while the spark timing is driven directly off the camshaft thru the optispark.

Shoebox, the 9-3157 is only adjustable in 2 deg increments. I was searching for an infinitely adjustable one.

I wasn't aware it was adjustable at all. Why in the world do you need one that is?

Crank position is determined by the opti. The separate crank position sensor is used for misfire detection only. If you go messing with the cam position, you are going to have to compensate with computer programming...furthering the question again, why?

I know there has been quite a bit of debate about adjusting the cam/crank timing via a timing set and the impact on the PCM. I'm the camp that when you build a motor and spend quite a bit of cash, degreeing a cam is something you always do. The adjustable set will allow me dial my intake centerline to match what's on my cam card. I don't know of anyone having PCM issues after adjusting the cam position.

Well, now we know what you are trying to do. Small adjustments might not be an issue, but perhaps those that have made wide adjustments don't really know the effect it has.
