Clearence question
Ok are there any clearence issues using a stock pan on a LT1 with a 3.875 stroke or would it be better to go with a canton pan? I cant use a winged pan due to clearence issues with my turbo setup? any suggestions?

so what should i do? a non winged canton pan? and with the canton pan would i need the canton pickup because if a 383 needs to be clrenced on a stock pan i dont see how a 396 will cut it but i might be wrong

don't know about the stock pan since i did not use it. but i used the canton pan on my 396, and the pan rails and scraper needs to be clearenced. use the canton pan and their pickup especially since your going to install a turbo. also get the high volume pick up if your using a stock LT1 oil pump because of the larger opening where the pickup press fits into the pump. i made the mistake of getting the standard volume one and had to send it back. if you go with the canton pan remember to put only 6quarts in!!!! (5qts in pan+1qt oil filter) and it will register on the ery end of the dipstick.
i've seen TTsetups up front use the canton pan....
