I installed a friends motor the other day. He went with the 30909 pan. It is now within millimeters of touching the rack. I might be able to slide a piece of paper in between and that is it. Anyone else have this issue in their car? Motor mounts are newer and poly so I ruled that out. Pretty stumped.

 

according to summit the pan is not for a newer lt1. i used a moroso kickout and still had to modify it for the headers. still a very tight fit but was not so close to the steering as u have.

I've got one lying here to use on my 383, but it'll be a little while before I can speak about the fit.
