cleaning oil pan

I'm getting ready to put the oil pan on my 94 lt1 and I was wondering how I should go about cleaning it. Should I just wipe it out or should I degrease it and then soap and water or what? thanks for any input.

Wipe it clean and use brake cleaner to remove the residue. No need for soap and water.

However you can get it clean and not leave a residue would work. Not sure the residue would even matter much. Doubt it would contaminate the oil significantly.
