I know it's not rocket science, but fwiw I think a lot of people over look this item. While it may not cure the whole problem, it just might be part of it.

For the hell of it today I cleaned my MAF and my filter while I was at it. The butt-o-meter tells me it helped some. Feels like it cruises better, especially in OD when I'm giving it a little gas. Not sure if its completely from cleaning the filter or the MAF but both were pretty dirty.

Giving the OP credit, the thought never crossed my mind to clean my MAF. Thanks for the tip!

dont use carburator or throttle body cleaner on the maf, it is too sensitive and will damage/ruin the fine electrical wires that hang there, trust me ive done it and either the maf cleaner can or the throttle body cleaner can i have say the same thing. no bueno

Most of us (permenantly) remove the restrictive screens on both sides , then you will be able to see the resistors much easier, and to clean them......if you remove the screens , just be VERY careful not to bend anything inword that could hit the resistors......

You can also use regular rubbing alcohol for the cleaner.....either poured right onto the resistors (from a filled cap).....or dip a Q-tip in the alcohol to where it's "completely" saturated , then VERY lightly dab the resistors.......I've been doing it this way for MANY MANY years on several MAF's , and it works perfect...........Joe

I use it. Some will not agree, it is safe and I have 0 issues with it. Like stated you can use 90% isopropel alcohol with a q tip, just be carful not to snag the resistors ends as they are hanging there.
