Chrome Headers

Chrome Headers

Anyone have a picture of what their chrome headers look like after being on the car awhile? Just courious to see what they look like after they have been used. Thanks.

They look nice at first, but they WILL turn colors over time. Like a brown, dull color. Definetly without question, GET THEM COATED i.e ceramic

at least thats what i suggest

Yep, they will turn dull and get a bluish color near the head flanges. Chrome can't take the heat. Take a peak at motorcycle headers after a few seasons. After a while the chrome will flake and header metal will get surface rust.

Well, the good news is that chrome does provide some protection for the metal; it just doesn't last very long and gets ugly when it rusts.

Ceramic is the better choice. Then again the Paul Barry ceramic coating on my BBC engine headers on my truck only lasted about a year.
