Angry Christmas Lights + Jumpy Guages...

So after getting my car back on the road a couple weeks ago... (DAMN OPTI!)... I start up my car and everything seems normal. Get started driving down the road, everything is going great. Then I notice SES Light, Check Guages Light, and Brake Light all flick on at the same time.. WTF. Well, my car still ran perfect and I had a SES light for 02 sensor that used to only come on in 6th, I just figured it was for that. No big deal. Well a couple days later, I'm driving down the highway. The brake light turns off but the airbag and abs lights come on. WTF! Then I notice my voltage meter moving up and down, never got in the red though. While this is all happening, my speedo pegs at 150 and my rpm guage pegs around 6 grand. WTF!!! So then my brake light turns back on and the airbag and abs lights go back off. Everything is working fine agian. Also, whenever I go WOT my guages will just jump around. What would cause this? Thanks.

BTW, does anyone know if the www.f-body.org/gears page is messed up right now or sumthing? 'Cause I used the info for a '94-'97 F-body M6 and with my tire size (255/50/16) it said I should be able to top 5th gear at 174 mph. Yea right, I just topped 5th gear out a few mins ago (I live in bfe Indiana and it's 1am for all the people that are going to complain...) and I know I wasn't going nowhere close to 174 mph.. Maybe closer to 147.

Re: Christmas Lights + Jumpy Guages...

From the way you described it, sounds like a voltage problem. The tach, SES, speedometer, etc are ran off the ECM so if that computer isn't getting the correct voltage level, it starts going nuts just like any other computer.
