check engine light came on at highway speed.

check engine light came on at highway speed.

last nite while doing about 60-65 mph...my check engine light came on... i pulled off and shut car off and started her again...and light was gone. any ideas...also is code still there... even though light is off/?

The code is "stored" and can be retrieved with a scanner. It will stay there until you have experienced a fixed number (exact number depends on the code) of "drive cycles" without the problem recurring.

Almost not worth guessing... get it scanned.

Honestly, that is too broad a question. I would recommend scanning the vehicle, and going from there.

got car scanned...got a code 032 egr malfunction...any ideas guys?

Do you still have the EGR setup connected with the LT's? If not, that would explain it. The 93-95 OBD-I EGR diagnostic is not anywhere near as sensitive as the OBD-II diagnostic, but it will show up as a code every once in a while when the EGR has been completely disabled. Or even possibly from the low backpressure of the LT's and off-road pipe.

Doesn't hurt anything, but if you want to totally eliminate the possibility of the SES light you need to program EGR out of the PCM.

You must have the tools with which to do it-software and the correct cable to connect to the PCM. Then you merely tell it not to report that trouble code when it senses trouble.
