Check engine light after longtube install

I just got done with a pretty big project including longtubes. The car runs fine and everything. But the check engine light stays on and makes it go into limp mode. They are non emissions headers. I was assuming it was the egr being gone and the computer relearning it. I had the egr blocked off previously and it would randomly come on and throw an egr code. Will I have to get it tuned out or will it possibly relearn. This is a 94 z28 m6. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The computer can't relearn that the EGR is gone. If you don't want it to be a problem, it needs to be tuned out. Until you have it scanned, you really don't know if the EGR is the issue (or the only issue). When the check engine light comes on, you scan it to see why.

Why assume its the EGR being gone. Scan it and find out why its on.

do you have a y-pipe, x-pipe, or some kind of header extensions on there?

if not your car is gonna be reading alot of clean air from outside and throw a code

did you make your own o2 extensions?
