Charcoal Cannister

During a recent car inspection I noticed that the charcoal canister on my 94Z was hanging down from the chassis. It seems the mounting bracket was rusted out. I asked the shop if they could reattach it to the correct position which they did.

It was about this time that I experienced a problem with the SES light coming on and according to the scanner it was code #32 or EGR. Ive had the ports cleaned and EGR cleaned but did not solve the problem. My question is " Is it possible that a clogged line to the canister or something in the canister cause a fault for code 32? The shop is scratching their head trying to figure out what the problem is......thanks

Re: Charcoal Cannister

No, they are not related. Check the vacuum lines for the EGR system. If one is loose or cracked there will not be any EGR flow. Check the EGR valve to make sure it opens when vacuum is applied.
