changing plugs. need all the advice i can get.
ok well im gonna start spraying my car so the platnum plugs have got to go. now i want all the advice i can get on changing these things. i have stock manifolds. i dont care if uve just got a trick on getting the #4 plug out or w.e it is, any input will help because i dont have the money to have my mechanic do it! oh and what kinda plugs should i put in for nitrous NGK tr55s? i think thats the ones i hear the most about.
Re: changing plugs. need all the advice i can get.
Get a snap-on spark plug socket with a 5/8" hex on the end so you can use an open end wrench to loosen the plugs.
With stk manifolds you can get at all the plugs up top except #7 that one you have to do from below (very easy to get to underneath).
#2 will be the hardest but be patient and take your time, don't forget to remove the alt to give you a little more room.
I have headers now on my car so doing plugs on a 4th gen with stk manifolds is a breeze.

#8 is super easy from underneath. by patient throughout the whole process. if you want the confidence builder than do the drivers side first. passenger side is not all that bad, juat have a 1 inch extension for ratchet. that was my best friend!

i was checking it out earlier and it feels like i can get a couple out from the top of the passenger side if i have someone laying under the car to guide my rachet
Re: changing plugs. need all the advice i can get.
I would lay down some towels and get comfortable underneath the car as most of the plugs will be accessed from there. My tools of choice were a 3/8 ratchet, some extensions, swivel joints, a stubby open end wrench, and of course the plug socket. I had to use different tools and combinations to get all the plugs out. Good luck.
