Angry Changing my oil today...

... and what do I see but a plug wire hanging off my opti. My car went 12.7 @ 109 on 7 cylinders, and dynoed 303/321 on 7 cylinders. Wow, can't wait to see what it really does!

I hope it didn't washout a Cylinder...

Did you smell fuel in the oil? Not to scare you, but I wiped out a cylinder that way back in the day, because the fuel washed the oil away and the rings scared the bore, it wasn't long after that it needed a rebuild...

I wish you the best...

Because there was non.

Also I don't know how much it really matters, but non of the other plugs were pushed in far enough to be clipped in to place.

P.S. I did not do this, the guy that rebuilt my motor did... I think I might have to have a talk with him.

Oh yeah, I haven't drained the oil yet, I was too pissed when I saw this. I will let you know what it smells like when I drain it.

You'd certainly notice a misfire, even with a big cam.

Anyways, drained the oil and it smelt normal with possibly the slightest hint of fuel, but I am hoping that is because it was in my head that it was going to smell like fuel.

You should be OK, trust me you'd be able to smell the fuel in it without a doubt if it if there was enough to wash out a cylinder...

There was no fuel, it was in my head... I had a couple other guys smell it and they only smelt old oil.

It was probably making enough contact. IMO, you would have easily noticed if it was running on 7 cylinders.

When making wires, I have found that it is easy to push the boots on the opti ends too far, making it hard or impossible to snap the wires on. And then they can pop off again. The conector clips should be flush with the ends of the boots or slightly protruding, as I recall. Might check that.
