changing fuel rails for 8AN? Injuneer?

I want to put all new lines in my car and was wondering how you guys layed out your rails for everything. sence i have a 93 mine is a little diffrent, I had already drilled out the back of the rails and put the fittings in there. one main question is did anyone elses have a tube inside the rail? mine did and it looks like it would be really restrictive, did you pull that out if you did? Im thinking about just putting the fittings in the back and leaving my regulator where its at with a 6AN return just weld in the old hole where the stock line ran into there. what did you guys do?

I ran a -6AN line into the back of each rail, and welded a -6AN return fitting to the diagonal crossover pipe at the front (94 and up, as you already realize). The Weldon FPR is under the cowl. That setup is good for 1,000 flywheel HP. Over 1,000HP use the -8AN and a separate return fitting on the front of each rail.

I didn't do the welding (not threaded) on mine, so I am not aware of any tube in the rail.... that may be a 93 thing.

I have seen the tube inside the rail mentioned before on the Speed Density board. Apparently its only on the early (92/93) LT1s.
When you get it all done I'd like to see a write up.

The tube inside is a 93 thing and hopefully you yanked it before finishing up. I'm kinda curious as to why your putting in an fittings and not doing the entire fuel system as a whole?

Since the '93 rails don't have a front crossover tube between them, they use a tube INSIDE the rail as a return line.

I am redoing my hole fuel system, Im going to get a dual intank set up adn run 1/2 inch from the tank up, this is just the start of it sence its something I can do farly cheap compared to a $600 pump set up. I did pull the tubes out of the rails, Im thinking if I just put the feed lines right in the back like i have them now and use the stock crossover pipe thats in the rear of a 93 that the regualtor should do its job in the stock location and it will have the supply of fuel I need, Ive seen people with 700 HP still run on the stock lines but I would rather play it safe and know I have the fuel I need.

Let us know what you end up doing. I am still debating on what route to take with the fuel system. Either Lonnie's PnP double pumper set up for $599.00 or Speed Inc.'s $1000 external pump. Or do with the schematic I wrote up here. http://web.camaross.com/forums/showthread.php?t=429766

Good choice.. FYI the crank pulley lip on the back side will need to be shaved down .025 so that fits flush with the balancer.
