Re: changing firing order makes power???

I see what your saying there, but I was reading on a impala board that someone was leaving the injectors wired like they were stock and those cylinders that were changed would just act like the old batch firing system. I know the tpi's were all set up that way and some early lt1's had it to. there should be any issues with the o2 sensor when its set up like this. I would think more fuel would be used in those sylinders but other than that the pcm would compensate for it being set up in a batch sequence.

Re: changing firing order makes power???

Ya won't see 8-10FWHP on the normal LT1. What Darrin is refering to is a 8-10 gain on a 1000+HP pro motor.
If ya got a 500+FWHP engine ya will see small gains but it is NOT an automatic 8-10 HP just with a cam change and a 4/7 swap.
IMO it's NOT worth the trouble or expense to change.

Might want to try your "search" again on "Advanced Tech". Both the benefits of changing the firing order and the difference in sound caused by firing order have been discussed in posts there.

Sometimes the "search" feature hiccups. It isn't unusual to enter the data in the "search" fields, hit the button and get an immediate "no matches". Smiply step "back" to the search screen, and hit the button again.

I just did a search on "firing order" on Advanced Tech only. Got 41 threads, several covering the 4/7 swap and others dealing with why engines sound different.

When searching, don't forget to change the "find posts from" field to "any date".
