Take a spark plug (or ignition system tester) and put it on the end of the coil wire...so basically, instead of connecting the coil wire to the optispark, just use an old plug/tester. If the plug fires, then its time for a new opti. If the plug doesn't fire or fires intermittently, it is either time for a new ICM or a new coil.
