changed fuel filter..still hard starts

car starts a little quicker but still not right away like it should. could fuel sending unit be bad? changed fuel filter today and let car sit for 3 hours. took 3 turns to crank. DEFINITELY runs better now! Guy that changed it for me while I was at work said it was very dirty. I wonder if injectors are filthy too?

You should check the fuel pressure,I bet it is bleeding down after it sits.

Could be a leaky injector,a leak in the lines, more than likely it is a check valve in the pump.

My hard starting problem was the check valve in the pump. Pretty much, you can catch this by putting a fuel pressure test guage on the shrader valve and turn the key to ON, if it holds presure after priming then you dont have a fuel problem. Well unless if its at like 10 psi If it drops down FAST its USALLY your check valve in fuel pump, BUT also can be a leaky injector (not likley) you can test a leaky injector by lifting up the fuel rails (4 bolts) and turning your key to ON, if you see an injectoir dripping then thats your problem. Anyone else wanna add anything?

Mine also takes a lot longer to start after sitting than it used to- used to sit for a month and still start almost instantly but now takes a few seconds. Then once it starts, it will turn over once like its going to die before it starts coming to life.

Anyway I took it to a $tealer because I couldnt figure it out, and he did check my fuel pressure and said that was fine, so I would like to figure mine out too! Any more hints would help, I will have to try the injector test though.
