Change fans to always come on?

I was wondering just that, cuz I live in miami and can get extremely hot! I was wondering if there was anyone that has there fans all the time. What can be bad about having them on all the time ? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I have never heard of them being on all the time, or anyone having that. I would just set them at a good temp. to go on and they will go on when it is needed.

Re: Change fans to always come on?

I ran my 94z with a fan switch running the fans constantly. Along with a 160 thermo, temps never got higher than 170-180. The only downside I noticed is the car would take a while to get up to operating temp. The other issue I can see arising is that the fans will most likely burn out faster. No ill effects here though, although I only had it rigged up that way for about 7-8 months. Good luck.

IMO, It's a waste to have them on all the time and you don't need it. Just have the fan ON temps reprogrammed to a lower temperature and it will help keep it cooler.

My fans were wired to be on all the time when i first got my car and the car always ran cool. No problems at all with it.

Don't you need a computer programmer for that though?

With the fans on all the time, will the fans interfere too much with the airflow coming in at higher speeds? Or not enough to make a difference? Just wondering.

Runs cool, eh? Why wouldn't it? No real need to wear out the fan motors and have the alternator have to supply the constant power. A while back, I measured ~3.3a for both fans at low speed and over 9 amps for just one fan at high speed. It takes horsepower to create that electrical power.
