CC502 track results

As some of you know maple grove got 'rained out' last week and i had to delay the track trip to this week at Beaver Springs Raceway.

My old timeslips indicate that this track is .25 slower than maple grove due to the fact that it is UPHILL, hahah. Uphill like you roll back on the starting line sometimes and people say it's like 15' up to the end of the track. I was using my ebrake on the line or letting the clutch out a tad. Anyways, here are my crappy results.

Weather, mid 60s, fairly humid.

13.080@111.38 2.203 60'
13.059@111.05 2.083 60'
13.025@111.82 2.113 60'

A couple things working against me were the stupid staging lanes at beaver springs, not like maple were you can just roll down. Stupid uphill track. Crappy track prep. At maple i can pull 1.95s which really woulda helped so i'd have a stupid 12 sec time slip. Can't complain about the weather though.

In the brackets i got 'thrown out' for not wearing a helmet. The guy in tech passed us without helmets and since we were sharing helmets with guys in verts i didn't wear it. Well i go to argue that the guy in tech told us that you don't need a helmet unless your "really really fast". Beaver Bob asked me if i was going to school to be a lawyer, hahahha. Finally we consulted the guy in tech who saw my best ET of 13.2 and beaver bob says"what et can they run without a helmet?" The guy balks 3 times until Bob says 13.99, hahhaa it was hilarious. He then said he "wasnt' mad at us" and let us run our final run.

For reference a guy with a cc305 and full exhaust and 4.10s was going 13.4s at 108 with about the same 60s.
Neon, 15.1 @ 100
WRX, also low 15s

Gotta go back to maple, grrrrrrrrr.

ALthough i think it was more the track then me, what PSI would you guys run on 275s 17x9.5 rim?

I also need to lay off into second cause they don't chirp anymore, they screech and spin I guess thats not a bad thing though.

That's awesome!!! I can't wait to run my car now. My dyno graph was almost the exact same "shape" as yours so to say, only I'm up 13 hp and 24 TQ. Seeing that 111 is making me really optomistic now about my possible times. Too bad I got to wait until October at the earliest...........wait. It's gonna be cool then!!!

Edit: Make that up 20 TQ and 32 HP with the same graph shape I.E. awesome tq curve.

great #s and track times man. i love to see guys with small cams putting as much power to the ground as those with cc306 and comparable!.. not to mention your mph is 111 so i think 12s shouldnt be too hard to come by.

Nice numbers man, althought I find the XE cam a much better application for the street. On the track you want a cam that will just rage thru the RPM band much like the Magnum cam's, (cc304, 305, 306, etc..)

On the street we seem untouchable.

thats why i went with the 218/224, because this is a lowered street car. I definitly still need to go back and get a decent time with a good hook. Heck i didn't even set a new best in the 1/8th mile, only in the 1/4.

Oooh, I see you have a TB in your sig, might be why you have some nice HP #'s. I'm wondering if it's worth putting one on my setup even thou I have stock heads.

a 52mm tb will help out a lot. lets the car breath easier. BUT dont goto the 58mm with stock stuff. you will freak out the pcm and the car will bog out of a dig.

I only have a 52mm because we needed to upgrade the stroker to a 58mm. I would not have payed full price for a throttle body on a car like this. There are a lot people running more hp on the stocker.

Yeah, the stroker is really the only place you want to use a 58mm. Plus with the 58 you have to machine the air intake. another 100$ after the 2k stroke!
