CC306 & springs question ---->
Re: CC306 & springs question ---->
Comp recomends the 918 springs, i run them with titanium retainers, and 1305magnum rockers with my 306. You will need the springs, rockers, and retainers as well as locks for sure with that cam. I would also replace the timing chain, melling makes a cheap one under $75.00 that looks just like the higher dollar cloyes and gm replacement. Also CC recomends break in with Rotella oil on all their cams, seems there have been some issues with other oils during break in.
Re: CC306 & springs question ---->
I tried to run SA rockers when I installed my gm847 and ran into too much installed height of the spring,I used comp 918 springs and the aligning tabs of the SA's sat just on the outside almost between the locks and the retainers, the roller wasn't even close to the valve stem.

blackcar628, I ran into the same issue while putting my friends 97 Z28 together. I used the 918s and all the required hardwear and ended up with the alignng taps on the rocks sitting right on top of the locks. There was almost 1/16 of an inch between the roller and the valve stem. I just got a set of GMPP guide plate, ARP rocker studs and some unguided comp roller rockers.

What year is your car LenT1? Do you mean Lunati? If thats what you mean and the chain is for a 92-94 LT1 then that is the same chain I am running. It works just fine. Its not a roller design but it works just as well and an OEM replacement from GM.

Sorry, I don't know how the C got on there, yes Lunati.
My engine builder said it was much stronger than stock and he was advised it was all he would need... This guy isn't very bright though.
As for the guy wanting the LT4 Hotcam...Mine has never been used, $125 shipped if I get the 306...

Re: CC306 & springs question ---->
The setup that it will be going in is a 96 camaro. It will have the 55gpm mazier elec. water pump and aftermarket radiator (not that that means anything) a th400 trans with a 3300 vigilante stall. Im not sure what year timing chain the guy gave me but I think he did mention it was a 94 lt1...not sure...
Re: CC306 & springs question ---->
Well sence you are running an electric water pump and have the vented Opti you can run many different timing chains. The Cloyes true roller timing chain is a popular one to run if you have the vented style opti. And its resonably priced. Does the timing chain have a small hole in the cam gear with teeth in it? If so thats for the early opti and probably wont work for you car.
