CC305 cam, too big for stock exhaust?

I just installed one in my wife's car, it seems like it's runnng ok. It's not missing on any cylinders. It's just runs really rough. When you give it gas it lopes so hard that it shakes the car. I'm wondering if backpressure from the restrictive exhaust could be causing this. Maybe it's too big of a cam without having the usual bolt-ons. I've got a set of SLP headers/y-pipe, and Borla going on next week. Hopefully that'll smooth it out a little.

Most people here always suggest headers before a cam. The car cant breath.

Yeah I've got a bad habit of digging into the motor before getting all the little things.

IMHO, the oem exhaust is too restrictive for the oem cam.

It's already been tuned by Ed Wright. I unbolted the y-pipe and ran open manifolds and took it for a drive. Despite sounding like a 9 second car it ran alot smoother, like it should. The exhaust is going on next week.

Because the cam came in before the exhaust. Simple as that.

Dude you're not listening. The exhaust has been ordered, I'm installing it next week as soon as it gets here. There's no point in waiting for the exhaust to arrive before installing the cam, I just wanted to speed things up. I'm not too worried about what I get from the cam in the next few days because by the end of next week it'll have a cam AND EXHAUST.
