CC305 and 1.6 RR help

Alright im getting these installed this coming week and i already found i needed to replace valve springs and what not so im going to use the XE612's that alot of people recomend. But here is my other question. Will my stock valve Covers be reusable with the 1.6 self aligning RR or will i have modify them or get the LT4 covers? Also i figured id change pushrods and lifters while im at it, anybody got any good suggestions on the pushrods and lifters at that arent to high priced. I already blew budget and with a wedding rolling around in 5 months i got start cost cutting but not at the sake of reliablity. Any suggestions are greatly appricated.

I don't think you should have to replace the valve covers. I didn't. The comp R lifters are supposed to be the best but stock ones will work fine.

The stock valve covers will work fine although you will have to modify them a little. All I had to do is flatten out the little "supports" on the inside of the valve cover. I used some plyers and it took about 5 minutes. As for the lifters, I think your stock lifters will be fine unless one is collapsed. Im using a set of hardened pushrods from C Motorsports. I think they are like $30. I ran that cam for a little while and loved it before I fell in love with my XE227 but still havent matched my track time with the cc305.

I have huge 1.7 ratio aluminum NSA rockers, and I have stock valve covers. All you might have to do is tap in the ridges slightly, but that was w/ these monsters. I'm guessing w/ 1.6s you'll be ok.

If your car came with hardened pushrods you don't need new ones, mine did, and I believe the 95's did as well. All you have to do is modify the supports of the valve covers as mentioned above. As far as lifters, if budget allows go for the Comp R's, if not stock is fine. I just went with another stock set.

COMP stock replacement lifters will work just as well as "R"'s. Don't waste your money on the "R"'s.
