CC 306 power band
Re: CC 306 power band
Hydraulic roller, eh? Should be interesting in that car.
The power band should get pushed back down some with more cubic inches, of course, so there shouldn't be any problem with steetability.

Re: CC 306 power band
the 306 is a great cam that make lots of people mad. it is not new it is not fancy but it makes great power for an off the shelf cam my 383 make power all over the dyno with it. rwtq is at 350 at 2500 rpm 400 by 3500. hp pulls over 400 from 5200 to 6500 that is a huge power band. peak number are great for racing dyno but dont mean a thing when it come to racing cars. i have yet to see a off the shelf cam put of better number over and over like a 306.
Re: CC 306 power band
n2ceptor you beat me to it. i read all the time these guys spinning their engines over 6500 with this cam. depending on what else you have done to the car and how the cam was degreed in, it may pull higher or lower but the truth will be told on the dyno. sure it may work above 6500 but by then you are way past your peak. i HAD a 383 in my old car and when they found it the tack registered the highest rpm and it was 11500. every valve was bent, but it did it. with almost any street cam no matter how big you probably wont see much gain above about 6200. contact comp and let them know what all you plan on doing and they can give you a good idea of what to expect.
