Car won't start when cold, any suggestions?

Alright, I just changed my opti, plugs, wires, and coil about 2 weeks ago, so those are ruled out. This thing has been doing this since I bought it in March, but now it's getting worse. If the engine is cold (off for more than 30 minutes) it won't start right away. It cranks fine(dad owns alternator/starter shop ) and it doesn't really have any stumbles. Just won't start for the first 5 seconds, or until I try twice, then it cranks right up. I dyno'd it last week and put down 268hp/304tq with just CAI and a cutout , but it was running pretty lean the whole time. Is this the sign of a fuel pump?? Or maybe a fuel pump relay?(Lean dyno not related)?! I'm just really confused on this and want to figure out why the heck it won't start. Any suggestions are GREATLY appreciated.

I'm gonna check the fuel pressure tomorrow morning and see if it's dropping when sitting. I'll let you know.

Thanks a lot and sorry so long,

Kyle

Any check engine lights?

A friend had those exact symptoms and the problem was no low-res signial from the opti. just because its new, doesn''mean you can rule it out..... Like you said fuel pressure could be it too....

Sounds like a fuel problem to me.
Check and see if its bleeding off.
Mine takes 2 tries to start as well, but my fuel pressure checked out fine so I am thinking its the 135k opti.

No ses-light.

I'm ruling out opti right now, except for a last ditch effort. I've had two of them and the symptoms haven't changed a bit. The first opti had it's problems too, stumbling all over the place. So I'm gonna check fuel first.

What would cause such a loss of fuel pressure?!? Last night I went to fill up with gas, my tank was almost empty, and when I took the gas cap off there was no hiss of pressure, could the gas cap cause this kind of problem?!

Thanks for the help so far,

Kyle
