Car Won't Start-Need Help Quick
Guys, car has been running fine lately. This morning car won't start, seems like typical dead battery. I've been trying to jump start the car but nothing happens. Some of the dash lights dimly come on for a minute but no fuel pump starting or anything. Could the battery be so dead it won't even jump start? Interior lights barely, if at all, turn on. Please provide suggestions! Thanks.

Extremely dead battery or high resistance in battery cables.
How long did you try to jump it for? I remember helping a friend jump his truck one time, I had to sit there for about twenty minutes varying the engine rpm between 1000-2000 before the thing would start. Battery was completely dead. (It didn't help that he had the distributor timed wrong, either
)
You can try wiggling the cables to see if it has any effect on the lights, too.
& sometimes a battery shorts out internally, or loses a cell, etc.- I've had that happen before, you'll get jumped and think everythings fine, next time you stop you're stranded again. My friend was out there jumping up and down on the battery, you could see the lights flickering from dim to bright as the battery was getting all cells and then losing some again.

obviously check the battery first, if its old anyway i would just get yourself a new one, then go from there do you hear the starter click at all or any other relays clicking? how is the ground/power connections check for built up corrosion. let us know
