Cool Car Won't Start!!

Hey Guys,

This one is a real challenge. My car died on me just before I put it away for the winter. I had some small bogging at low rpm's for a couple of weeks before it died and wouldn't start.

I thought it was the opti going on me, so I changed it for a brand new one. I checked for spark and fuel and have both. So I even changed my PCM and wiring between the pcm & opti. I also changed my plugs and wires but still won't start. I then checked for compression and thats fine too.

The thing still won't start.

Anyone have any suggestions on what else I can try?

Get a squirt can and fill it with gas. While somone is in the car cranking the engine, squirt fuel in the TB (pull the intake snorkel off). Keep squirting and cranking until it starts up. If it does start, you have a fuel problem. The first thing to do is drain all the old crap out when you disconnect the fuel filter. If need be, blow compressed air in the tank at the breather hose CAREFULLY. This should get all the fuel out. Replace the filter with a new one and fill the tank with fresh fuel.

Get the last bit of fuel out by powering up the pump and relieve the pressure at the schrader valve. You can either cycle power or put 12 Volts on the fuel pump prime connector. Button it up and try it. If it still won't fire, check the fuel pressure while your cranking the engine to confirm the fuel pump is ok.

Thanks for your help,

it ended up being my coil as I was getting fuel and spark but the spark wasn't strong enough to start the car..
