Car will rev up on its own...WTF???

Okay, I let my car sit for about three weeks and I started it up and the thing would just rev up to 1500 and drop to 400 and rev up to 2000 and drop to 700 and then it would idle nice and smooth and start doing it again??? What is wrong here??? I then proceeded to beat the crap out of it and it stopped, but it started doing it again as soon as I shut it off and let it sit for a bit.

I just did the Taylor OVC wires install and I DO have my plug wires awfully close to my TPS wiring and my IAC wiring and also my MAF wiring...would the field from the spark plug wires be interfering with some of these sensors and sending false signals to the PCM???

I was just checking to see what you guys think, because right now that is what I am thinking. Oh yeah, and it started doing this after I installed the plug wires.

Thanks

my pickup started to rev up one day after i put it in park and would stay there at like 3krpm So I cleaned up the TB and it stopped doing it. Could be a similar problem, but then again I think the truck is possesed as it will do something strange and then never do it again

Yeah, I've got some BG Throttle body cleaner that I have from work...I know thats not the problem..I just seafoamed everything before I did the plug wires. This started AFTER I put the plug wires on.

I'm puzzled...

If you think it is the position of the wires, move them and see what happens.

Make sure you have no vacumn leaks... if you removed the TB to do the plug wire install make sure it is torqued down properly and the gasket is sitting right.

I have checked for vacuum leaks and found none.

I was actually just getting ready to go outside and reposition the wires and see what I come up with.

Thanks
