Unhappy please help me with adjusting my 1.6 pro mag rocker arms!@!

All right last night i went to start my car for the first time since i started this project. it was turning over slowly and would not take. i talked to a couple people and said that it was most likely my rocker arms adjusted wrong. i can believe that since i did them myself and have never done them before that i probibily tightend them too much. that is what everyone else is thinking since i had professional help on everything else with the motor. someone else told me that you need to adjust the pro mags different than the chiltons manual tells you to? i am just trying to get some thoughts and ideas as to how to do this properly. i can't get a hold of my mechanic friends and i NEED to get my car running today!! someone please help me!

thanks

thomas

Turning over slowly would really have nothing to do with your valve adjustment. Now, if it was turning over real fast, then you would likely have them too tight.

Look on my Tech page for a how-to on adjusting valves in all kinds of ways. There should be no difference on the preload for different rockers. Just locking them down would be different with the lock nuts.

Ok work on each cylinder seprately turn the motor over slowly while watching the rocker arms when the intake starts down adjust the exhaust. When the exhaust starts up adjust the intake. When adjusting take all the lash out and then give it 3/4 turn and set the locks. This will get you very close if not right on then you can fine tune it after that. Matt
