Car will Only run with the coolant fan fuse pulled !! WTF ???
I'm totally confused here.... I go home to see my mother this weekend and on the way there i get behind one of a few wrecks... Temps start to rise, so i just shut it off since were not moving.
I get into town the next day and it's still the same way
If I idle for a long time temps start to rise quickly. I determined the fans were not coming on.
Next day I check over, test the fans, etc. I pull the coolant fan fuse and it's blown. I stick another one in there.
Now, here is the wierd part. Fans come on a lil early, like at 170. Ok, fine with me. This thing hesistates and misses like it's running Super rich... Putt putt putt cough miss....Boom, takes off. I could barely drive cause it would not run right until i got it to over 3k. I unhooked the MAF and it's cleared up a little bit. I pull out the fan fuse and it's toally clear !!! No miss for another 200+ miles
I've been driving with the fuse out and it's fine as heck. It's 10 degress out so the car doen't get very hot anyways right now. Put fan fuse in and it's hesitation city...
Car has no programming.
Any suggestions please

Obviously something caused the fuse to blow the first time. On a 1995, there are more things powered by the fan fuse:
EGR solenoid
EVAP solenoid
HO2s
+ if manual:
skip shift
reverse lockout solenoid
One of those puppies could have died and the pcm will not be able to monitor the input with the fuse out.

Nomad,
I had a few crazy problems with this circuit when I installed my BBK shorties. I see you have Hooker LT's. On the passenger's side strut tower, where the wire goes from the PCM to the passenger-side O2 sensor (underneath the metallic-looking shielding), it had melted a wire very slightly, which ended up grounding itself somewhere which popped the same fuse you speak of. It turns out that the O2 sensor heater is the same circuit, which is where this wire went to. This could be your problem, but maybe not. I would check that wire.
Hope this helps,
JR

Well, I have no EGR. I do still have the evap. I moved all of my wires away from the headers, running most behind sheilding.
The 02's would make sense due to the fact if i put the fuse it, it runs like major poopoo... Hmmmm.....

When you pull the fuse, your PCM is going into limp-home mode. I think this might be open loop, ignoring your O2's, but I could be wrong. I guess you'd have to use a scan tool to verify. Good luck, let us know how you make out.
