I was modding it because I was confident it was the valve stem seals which was causing the oil brun, and now that its not I am pissed. Car just turned 100k.
No its not dumb to mod it. If you've got compression then you are good to go. Like i said all cars will burn alittle bit of oil.

Well after asking you many times how much it burned you finally answered. Jfyi my car at 80k burned 1 quart a month and i drove it 200 miles a week and it ran fine. I wish i would have just modded it that way instead of being paranoid and rebuilding it only to have it blow up.

My car does the same thing yours was doing.

Here is my idea. I dunno about you, but my exhaust pipes are coated with an oily film due to the long term neglect of fixing my valve seal/guide. So I personally think that once the the pipes/headers reach a certain temp, its burning this remaining oily coating inside the pipes off.

Just an idea.

I know you're frustrated, but please don't do that again.

Someone may have said this, but I would look at the head gaskets, and all your gaskets around the oil pan. Do you smell anything? What kinda oil do you use? Cause I personally haven't had a car that ate oil like that, but from my understanding it's normal.

I use Castrol GTX Startup 10w-40. I do have some oil seepage near the bottom of the motor but I cant tell where its coming from. It doesnt leak, like leave spots on he driveway but I can see a little seepage when I get under it. Its kinda where the balancer/crank pulley is.

EDIT: I dont smell anything either.

Thats a good idea, but you wouldthink once it does reach that temp that it would burn while dirving not just startup. But I do know that fixing the seals has been neglected for a while.

Also I have a new catback so the only spot would be the headers.

Ok today I looked at it, and the smoke actually appears to be a greyish/white. I did notice a while back that my coolany smelled like major *** and was brown but I thought it was from rust. Is this a blown head gasket or something or what?

That could be...the smoke would be from it burning coolant. The problem doesn't sound too bad but i would definetly replace the head gasket, that is if its the problem.

Have you noticed the coolant level going down at all? It may just be a small, slow leak.

Actually I just checked andthe coolent level has never gone down ever since I owned the car(using the coolent dipstick to check). Which is wierd but it does smell like crap and is brown, a friend of mine said that the brownishness /redish is probably from rust within the radiator. I did flush the radiator not too long ago(and bleed the air out), but not the block so I didnt get all of it out so it still is redish/brown.

Are there any other sources form which water or something of that kind could be coming from besides head gasket?

Thanks for the help James you seem to be my only hope.

The simple fact that your problem stopped after you replaced the valve stem seals. Meaning no smoke! Now a few miles later, the problem has come back. Tells me that your guilds are worn.

The only way to fix this problem is to pull the heads and have a valve job done. Have them surface the heads, too
