Its making me mad about this been to the track this years and the car is only going 106-108 mph and breaking up and studdering from 5400 plus. I have replaced coil,plugs,coil wire,fuel pump what else is there, the opti was done about 3-4 years ago 20k miles ago that is the only thing left to do. Any ideas from you guys or input would be great

 

You don't list plug wires, only the coil wire. I had very similar symptoms and a fresh set of wires fixed it right up.

 

how about fuel filter mine broke up in high range when it was clogged

 

I've replaced my opti, wires, plugs, coil, fuel pump/filter, and my car STILL misses above ~5,500 RPM. It doesn't do it all the time either, just sometimes. Booooooo!

 

it did it at the track, but on the way home ran great, i quite im buying a ls1 or cobra

 

I wouldn't be putting a lot of faith into an Opti what was put in "3-4 years ago"...

But you're welcome get a Cobra anyway!

 

Coil driver module harness connector. I've seen a loose connector make intermittant contact and give symptoms like what you describe. It's worth a check.....

 

Mine was doing that most of last year. I thought it was the MAF the whole time but didnt get a code until right before i put it up for the winter, so check that. Also, try spacing your icm away from your head with some washers. If that over heats youll have some missing, but ussually all over the band...
