Anyone have any ideas regarding the hard starts?

 

leaky fuel pressure regulator or injector allowing gas to settle in the intake while sitting while sitting? Have you made sure that the o2 extensions aren't burnt and shorting out against the headers?

 

02 extensions seem fine. Is there a procedure to follow and track what part of the ignition system isn't operating, starting from the wires?

 

I had a similar problem and fixed it. My engine wouldn't start when I first tried cranking it no matter how long i turned it over untill the engine build oil pressure and kicked on the fuel pump. When i'd turn the key off and back on it would start. I'm going with the guy above me in saying that you probably are losing fuel pressure when it's setting. My lt1 was swapped into my truck so the fuel pump may be different than yours. But on my fuel pump there was a small piece of fuel line connecting the pump to the fuel line coming into the tank. It had gotten loose and would leak fuel pressure while setting. It would build enough pressure to keep the engine running once it was started. After I tightened up that hose it starts right up very quickly everytime. By turning the key off and back on your pump primes for two seconds more which probably gives you sufficient pressure to start on your second try.

 

What was the solution here??

 

It was 2 things. My fuel pump was dying and outputting low fuel pressure. The main problem though was the delteq ignition module. It is made of plastic and deformed, ruining the electronics inside. Tried to contact delteq, but they're no where to be found. I removed the pos delteq setup and replaced the opti, and the car has never ran better.
