the car is slow
the car is slow
In the past two weeks I've noticed that my 94 Z28 A4 has become really sluggish. When I floor it the car wont even kick down, it just accelerates hard-I do have a new built A4, 2500 stall. Not even from a roll or anything will it throw me back in my seat like it used to.
At night I have seen the arcing on some plug wires and coil.
Theoretically, if the "spark" is not getting its entire energy of any kind to the cylinder, how much hp loss could occur? For example if three cylinders were not getting enough spark (or almost none), that could be easily 40 hp loss, no?
I have an exhaust at the manifold/head portion but that wouldn't affect too much?
I need to clean my K&N which is probably dirty after at least 8k. Also, I have "popping" and/or hesitation to shift at high RPM.
Any suggestions/advice?
thanks
Daniel

Re: the car is slow
Even one plug wire arching will cause the car to run like crap and U say u have 3??? You're losing more then 40hp there buddy. As far as your tranny problems go. I had a bad throttle position sensor on my car once and it affected the tranny pretty bad. It would rev too high at part throttle and then short shift on me at moderate throttle. Get those plug wires changed and I bet u notice a big differance.
Re: the car is slow
I figured my car is suffering. my gas mileage sucks right now, bad enough as it is in So. Cal.
I never thought about a bad tps. Thats a good point. The car has 84k, things can start to go bad.
Maybe its time for a new LS1.
By the way, what type of pacesetters do you have, part #, price, etc?
thanks
