Arrow car shifts from 1st to 2nd at high rpm and jerks.....tranny problem???

A few days ago i noticed that my 97 z28 has been "jerking" whenever it shifts from 1st to 2nd gears and it doesn't shift untill it reaches 3000 rpms which i don't think its supposed to shift at that high of an rpm *at least not from 1st to 2nd* and sometimes my tires "bark" when it happens especially if i have my ASR off...i was told by someone that my transmission mount might be busted because whenever i "floor it" from a stop i hear a loud thud from beneath the car. I just wanna know if my transmission is going out or if its something in the engine making it shift like this...any help would be appreciated..thanks in advance...

I would get under and make sure all the bolts are in the crossmember and tranny mount and do so very soon and definately not drive it hard until you determine things are safe. Might check motor mounts too. Check tranny fluid too. Also did these issues just start Posted from Camaroz28.com App for Android

Check your mount I'm willing to bet you have you have a loose or busted trans mount

If the trans is shifting oddly from what you are used to, you might want to scan for trouble codes. Trans codes don't light the check engine lamp.

ok sorry for late update i just got off work, but i went to Autozone and had them pull the codes and this is what came up:
p1371
p1122
p0372
p0323
p0300
p0122

I recently had to change the optispark because my car was shutting off while driving and its hasn't shut down since i changed it, but for some reason the car is still throwing a misfire code? Also i changed the crank sensor last week so i don't know why the 0372 code is still popping up. Last time i ran codes on my car there were only 2 codes, 0300 and 0371. I'm not sure why these other codes suddenly came up

Unfortunately, the P0372 is not for the cps. It's for no high resolution signal from the opti. Could be bad wiring connections, so check the wiring associated with the opti.

you know your not the first person who has told me that. I wonder why Autozone's obd2 scanner keeps listing it as a crank sensor malfunction?

Yeah, I told you that. AZ uses a scanner with some generic codes, apparently. If you want valid codes, use the link in my signature.

Are you sure AZ didn't tell you it was the cam position sensor? Because that's what the optical sensor in the Opti is.

P1371 - Opti cam position sensor - loss of low res signal - this is the one that shuts the engine down.

P1122 - TPS sensor - intermittent low voltage

P0372 - Opti cam position sensor - loss of high res signal

P0323 - Opti cam position sensor - low resolution circuit intermittent

P0300 - Multiple misfires detected

P0122 - TPS sensor circuit low - Signal dropped below 0.2V.

GM does not list a P0371 code for the LT1, but looking online, its for a problem with the high res pulse count.

What brand Opti did you install? Did it come with a new "short Opti harness"? Have you checked the connectors on both ends of the Opti harness for corrosion or damaged pins?

on the printout it says " p0371 crank sensor condition - crankshaft position sensor is monitored for errors - possible causes: crank sensor defective, check connector, check trigger wheel for damage"

as for the opti, i didn't have enough money to by a brand new opti so bought a used opti from a salvage yard. Not sure the brand but i was told that it came out of a chevy caprice. No i didn't check for any damaged pins, but it looked in fairly good condition considering it was used.

Used, salvage opti...big gamble. Even a chain store opti will normally get you a lifetime guarantee (not that I recommend one).
