car shakes after headers/oil pan gasket.. but its not plugs/wires

Well, I did the mac 1 5/8th headers with ypipe and offroad pipe, and I also put in new taylor 8mm wires. I used zipties to tie them together along the block, so it doesn't touch the headers. It *never* has come into contact with the header primaries as far as I know.

I took my car into the shop after that to get my leaky oil pan gasket replaced (I tore it when I did the cam install), and the shop installed it fine. However, when I got the car back, the idle was shaky, and at low rpms, the car just "chugged", and kind of shook. Going at a high gear/low rpm/high load, the car will buck and shake while maintaining speed...

now the symptoms all point to burnt plug wire/loose plug. I checked all the wires today, made sure they "clicked" in on the plug and on the opti... none of the wires were burnt as far as I could tell.

Any ideas? Help or pointers would be appreciated.

Thanks,

It is sure it's missing.
They must have messed up the opti when they replaced the oli pan gasket.
Or, you could have a cracked plug.
Sorry, can't help too much...

does the opti have to come off with the oil pan gasket? I don't think they touched it...

but yeah, the symptoms point to it as a sure miss, I was 99.9% sure it was burnt plug wires until I checked them today..

I guess it coudl be the opti, but it was working fine, and smoothly, until they did the oil pan gasket.

This really blows, because I have to drive home this weekend for family obligations and without the car running.. d'oh.

Sounds like the shop may have messed with your wires and maybe took a couple off and put them back on the wrong cylinders. Guess you better check them all. I would also look for anything else they might have taken off and not put back.

Yeah, that made me think that they messed it up.
