Car is running Rich Ideas???

Car was dyno tuned at Speed Inc last year by previous owner. Only thing he did was up the Fuel Pressure. I bought the car from him and it is running really Rich. I mean the car tears though gas and the exasht pipes are dirty. My question is would FP cause it to run rich? Bought a gauge yesterday and am going to bring it back down to Speed Inc levels. But I thought the MAF figured out lean/wide? Also picking up a Scanmaster this weekend to verify what Im thinking. Thoughts?

rich

at first, it will run rich, but the CPU should have corrected itself over time.

check the fuel pressure regulator vacumn line. If there is fuel in it, replace the fuel pressure regulator. That was what was wrong with mine, and I had the same problems you had.

A leaky fuel injector will also cause a rich condition (failed smog on that one )
