Angry Car quit. Please Help!

My buddy has a '97 Z28 with heads and cam done to it. We have converted the car over to OBDI and are having major problems with the car... The PCM has been programmed by PCM4Less, but everything seems okay on that front.

Today on his way to work the car quit on him, leaving him stranded. He has not had a chance to scan the car for codes, but the last time it did this it threw DTC's 16,41, and 53. The ignition module was replaced and the car ran fine for about a week.

Any ideas what this might be? I will update with current codes as soon as we get them.

Thanks!

When 16 is involved, you have to be considering the opti. 53 is "system voltage high" and is probably a lesser thrown code. I would be checking the voltage with a meter just to be sure.

If you clear the codes and try to start it again and it won't start, you may get the 16 back. If so, check the opti harness. It might be opti time.
