a friend of mine has a 93 formula a4 and he was idleing at the store today and his car died. I am trying to help him figure out what is wrong with it. The fuel pump is priming up, and the car will turn over but will not start. I told him to check the opti but he just got the car about 2 weeks ago and doesnt know anything about lt1s. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

 

first thing i would do is put some gas in it, its not uncommon for the gas gauge to be off or broke.

if their is gas in it check for fuel presure at the shard valve right behinf the intake.

Also check for spark from the coil, take the coil wire off the coil and and have ur friend hold the coil while you crank it over a few times, or i guess u could just put a groundd wire very close to the tip of the coil and see if you can see it arching.
