Car Problems

I was driveng along and after about 6-7 miles the car studdered a little then stalled. I tried to start the car and it just cranks over but does not fire. I let it sit for 30 mins and it was fine and drove perfect. Then after driving about 6-7 more miles same thing. After the car cools down it starts right up.I pulled the code it was a P1371 And i cann't seem to find any info. Anyone have any ideas?

Re: Car Problems

Time to replace the Ignition Control Module its going bad. It's getting too hot- cools off and works again. Or worst the opti is going out.

Is there any way to test the ignition control module?

Re: Car Problems

P1371 is for loss of low resolution pulse from the Opti. If the engine actually shut down, its definitely the Opti, or the wiring harness for the Opti. PCM shuts down the fuel system when the low res pulse is lost. The fact that it restarts after cooling down would seem to indicate its the optical sensor module in the Opti overheating.
